At TLC Rehab, we do not view addiction as a moral failing or a problem of willpower. We understand addiction as a response to disconnection from self, from others, from community and from meaning.
Our therapy framework is designed to help clients reconnect. To themselves. To their values. To healthier coping strategies. And to relationships that support long term recovery.
This approach reflects the understanding that the opposite of addiction is not simply sobriety, but connection. Every element of our programme is built with this principle at its core.
Every client at TLC receives a personalised care plan within the first 96 hours of treatment. This plan is created collaboratively with a keyworker and forms the foundation of the client’s therapeutic journey.
Care planning allows clients to:
Alongside group work, clients receive two structured one to one therapy sessions each week, providing space to explore personal experiences, trauma and deeper therapeutic themes.
Our framework recognises that recovery unfolds in stages. Treatment progresses through three broad phases, while remaining flexible to individual needs and readiness.
Stabilisation and safety
Clients develop grounding skills, understand addiction, and begin building emotional safety.
Cognitive and emotional growth
Clients explore thinking patterns, values, self esteem and emotional regulation.
Relational healing and trauma recovery
Clients explore attachment, boundaries, grief and trauma, supporting deeper reconnection and resilience.
Because TLC operates a rolling admissions programme, clients staying for shorter or longer periods are guaranteed exposure to each therapeutic domain, with depth increasing over time.
These sessions help clients understand addiction, the nervous system, cravings, coping strategies and the role of connection in recovery.
Clients learn grounding techniques, mindfulness, emotional regulation, stress management and healthy habit building.
This phase focuses on self esteem, values, communication, CBT based approaches, acceptance and resilience.
Clients explore attachment styles, boundaries, grief, trauma and the impact of lived experiences on current behaviour.
This structure ensures recovery work is balanced, evidence based and relational, rather than symptom focused alone.
Alongside the core groups, clients participate in weekly sessions that support holistic recovery, including:
These sessions strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild routine and support sustainable recovery beyond treatment.
Before leaving TLC, every client takes part in an aftercare planning meeting. This ensures continuity of care and realistic next steps.
Aftercare planning focuses on:
Recovery does not end at discharge. Our framework is designed to support clients in building a foundation they can continue to build on.
The TLC Therapy Framework reflects best practice in modern addiction treatment. It integrates trauma informed care, relational therapy and evidence based approaches while remaining flexible and person centred.
Our aim is not just abstinence, but meaningful, connected and lasting recovery.
