Abigail – Nurse

Abigail qualified as a General Adult Nurse in 2010 after completing her diploma at University. Her early career began in cardiac and respiratory care before moving into oncology, where she gained extensive experience over eight years. She then worked in the community as a district nurse for four years, before supporting patients at a at a prison.

In 2019, Abigail transitioned into substance misuse and addiction support, initially working with CGL (Change, Grow, Live), where she engaged directly with patients, families, and communities, gaining insight into how every area is affected by addiction, safeguarding, and mental health. During her time as a senior staff nurse and clinical lead, she met James (a founder at TLC) before eventually joining TLC Rehab.

Abigail’s approach to care is rooted in kindness and empathy. Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “Treat people how you would want to be treated – just be nice.” She believes that making someone feel seen and valued can be the beginning of real change.

What Abigail finds most rewarding is witnessing transformation. Many clients arrive with anxiety and tears, uncertain of the outcome. Being part of their journey, watching them smile, walk freely, settle, and rebuild self-belief and self-worth – is, in her words, “so rewarding.”
